summer.a recap

this summer was certainly...busy. i did a few things for rva magazine (1 part rva mannequin, 1 part styling), worked at urban, and for a potter.
finally im done with urban outfitters though.i was sick of the horrible quality of clothing and the stuff that we got at short pump urban was quite simply suburban. i dont think ive shopped there in months. and neither should you. american apparel, rumors, need, henry and hospitality are the only places ill spend money now, and even though theyre pricey theyre totally worth it. at least from them i wont see someone wearing the exact same shit as me, and if i do odds are therye nudie jeans, which i dont mind, we need a denim revolution.
speaking of i got a newwww pair of nudies from dean. he rules. a 200 dollar pair of slim jim dry japans for only 50. i love that boy to death.
unfortunatly they were hemmed before i got them and the excess denim was cut off so i couldnt let out the hem. i had em tailored and i dont think the people took them in tight enough. what do you think? heres a pic:


i love te color of the jpanese denim.its so thick. its gonna break in really nicely i can already tell. i spray starched the a couple of times just to ensure that they would be extra hard so when i break the in theyll be nuts. i guess theyre grim tims now cos theyre the top of the jim, and then the bottom of the finn.

here are my old nudies after 1 or 2 washes, i cant remember.



im gonna keep wearing em, not as much cos im working on the sjdj, but ill continue to muck these up so that when i keep washign them theyll be incredibly faded. i starched them a couple of times recently but it didnt do much.

what else happened this summer...oh my cousin ellen got hitched. i hadnt seen her in about 10-11 years. it was fantastic to see her ad the other cousins. although im not too keen on some of the other people at the wedding. there were a few assholes. well more like one, he was on my shuttlebus and he cursed out the matron of honor when he was drunk. fucker.

well school started up again, and its fantastic so far. my two clay classes are really fun, and i mean, clay is the only thing i know really. so they shoudl be appropriatly challenging, but im used to the touch of clay so i dont know what to expect. wheel throwing im confident in, handbuilding im a little nervous cos i havnt done it in so long, and im not the neatest fellow around.

i just had history this moring, and the lady seems nice and easy. shes very hyper though.

oh oh oh and last thing. duchess of york, one of the best bands in richmond, or ever from richmond in my opinion, just released their debut album. you can get it in plan 9, or purchase it online at their myspace. dean set up a paypal account so if you order it hell ship it out to you asap.
